VIDEO: Launch of Daphne Home Scents for Bench™

Here’s what happened at the launch of my home scent line for Bench™. Hope you can view this video…

My Bench™ home fragrances

It has been almost a week since the DAPHNE Home Scents for Bench™ were launched. I haven’t written about the event yet because almost immediately, real life took over. I was allowed to be in cloud nine for a day, then everything fell into place like nothing happened. My kids started school. I’ve been busy establishing a morning routine with them. And I’ve focused on dropping them off and picking each one up every single day. This is the life that I want.

Just to shake things up a bit, Patrick brought the two older kids to Bench and Dimensione over the holiday. They were giddy when they saw the display of DAPHNE bottles along side chinos and T-shirts at Bench. Lily insisted to buy a bottle. I lined up and paid for it. The sales associate was speechless. It was a very cute moment.

Daph POP Final

I’ve been getting a lot of tweets and Instagram links from those who’ve bought and tried the scents. So far, all very good reviews. There are three scents – Acres of Lavender, Homemade Lemon Tart and Mint Jasmine Infusion. I’m really so proud of how they all came out. The Bench teams who developed the product and worked on the launch are so awesome.

Here’s the video that was shown at the launch. It tells the story of how the scents were created, and how the collaboration came about. The video was shot and produced by creative duo Jujiin Samonte and Paulo Castro.

More photos and highlights of the launch, coming soon. Sorry for the hangover. I don’t think I’ll ever get over this! Haha. Have you tried the scents yet?

Game Zoo at Resorts World

A couple of weeks ago we took the cousins to watch the Sound of Music at Newport Theatre in Resorts World.

It was a huge production. And as it turns out, was the longest-running large scale production of a Broadway musical. It figures, we’d catch it on its last night. The energy was amazing. Joanna Ampil as Maria was awesome. The kids can’t wait to see the next local production – The King and I.

Resorts World Manila at night
Resorts World has become this one-stop-shop destination for many balikbayans. I know my parents went here many times – to eat, shop and hang out with their friends. When I picked up my brother from the airport last year, our first stop was a welcome drink at Opus.

In keeping with developing the place into a lifestyle hub, Resorts World continues to add activities for kids. If your children are into arcade, there’s Game Zoo. It’s a two-storey funhouse with an impressive line-up of exclusive games and fun activities.

GameZoo is located at the 4th level of the Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila. For more information,

Play houses

We’re  getting back to normal at home. This is the week kids are back at school. I will slowly be settling into a routine of picking each kid up from school, organizing their things, checking their homework and missing them while they’re at school. Or maybe not too much. I do have a lot of work to catch up on. This summer was crazy busy for me with their activities. So I welcome this when I will have some alone time at home. Meaning, all of two hours.

We cleaned house over the weekend. Decluttered bookshelves and toys. But the “stuffs” are just never-ending. Made me wish the kids had their own place filled with toys because a play room is not enough. Or at least a little cottage or shed. Who am I kidding? I will forever have that house with a piece of Lego or small Polly Pocket waiting to be stepped on by me.

I ended up googling images of dream play houses. These are all so adorable.

I’m afraid to show this to Lily. She will go nuts over this Victorian Wood Playhouse.

Too cute! Pennfield Cottage Wood Playhouse.

modern childrens playhouse design
From Smart Playhouse, the Hobikken model – a rustic playhouse made mainly of wood for a warm, cozy feeling.

Also from Smart Playhouse, the Illinois playhouse is inspired by the Modern Movement from the middle of the 20th century. My kids won’t like this because it’s completely devoid of any adornment. Sophia already proclaimed that she doesn’t like things “too modern”. Another old soul like me. But I am loving this so much.

From Kanga Room Systems, this shed is so adorable. This company actually makes outdoor sheds for adults. I’ve always dreamed of having my own shed – for writing and my pretend home office. Because we all know that home offices don’t really work when you have toddlers.

I think the best play house for our climate is still the Bahay Kubo. Our neighbour’s kid has an adorable one.

Museo Pambata
The one in Museo Pambata was cute too.
