Our kitchen

Here is the video feature about my kitchen renovation that took forever. There are still a lot of details about the construction that I am willing to share. Like why there’s aircon, why our refrigerator juts out like that, why we chose wooden floors, our lighting and all. I will write more when I get the time. For now, here’s what we’ve got.

This is an ongoing labour of love. I’m happy with how it’s turning out. Thanks for watching.

Tooth fairy

I’m doing some work while “on vacation”. While preparing for a work trip, I hear Lily scream with excitement. “Mom!!! My tooth fell out. Yay!” This dangling front tooth has been causing me some anxiety. I didn’t want it to fall out while I was away. I just didn’t want to miss it. Like her first tooth – it fell out while I was in Bangkok. One of the rare times I traveled for work. And no one noticed. Not even she. Apparently she swallowed it.

So when she ran to me with the tooth and smiled proudly, the world had to stop. Tonight everything was about Lily’s tooth. We kept it in a little toy capsule. Tucked it under her pillow.  Then she wrote this —

Dear Tooth Fairy. I hope you find me because I'm in Canada for a vacation ("facacain"). And I lost my first tooth, my second tooth. First I swallowed the tooth, the next one I just lost it. From ?Lily #toothfairy #letter #lily

Another Lily milestone. #toothfairy
She wears her “bungi” like a badge. Oh Lily.

Palms Springs style in OKL

Collage OKL Palm Springs Vintage

This is has been my therapy for the past few months. Scanning through the One Kings Lane site. Lots of great vintage finds here. They also have sales on designer items for the home. Think of it as a really well-curated eBay or Groupon.

Here are my picks from the Palm Springs style sale. All vintage finds. I wish I owned a container or was sponsored by a shipping company, haha. Those in mainland USA are lucky. Though most of these are on the pricey side, there are plenty of more affordable finds on the site. Sigh.

Samsung Love@Home

A few days before Holy Week, I attended the dealer’s launch for Samsung’s newest digital home appliances at the Rockwell Tent. Samsung dealers from all over the metro were given a virtual tour of the “Samsung Home” and got valuable pointers on how they can improve their household and build stronger ties among family members with a little help from Samsung.

With me were my fellow Samsung Brand Ambassadors, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Rissa Mananquil-Trillo. We shared stories of our own Samsung digital inverter appliances at home. In my kitchen alone I have the French-door refrigerator, microwave and air conditioner.

Samsung Digital Air Conditioner can be relied on to provide cool, and germ-free air with its patented virus detector technology that immobilizes and deactivates bacteria, and turns them into water vapor resulting to a steady flow of clean air. It also has a Smart Inverter Technology that makes it 60% energy-efficient. Some models have advanced Smart Wi-Fi, which means it can be controlled remotely from virtually anywhere with internet connection.

The Samsung Digital Appliances team headed by Daejoong Kim, Business Unit Adviser and Joey Hidalgo, Business Unit Head.

It was a very blue evening – all of us in Samsung blue – with Samsung Marketing Director Benjie Jimenez and Head of Corporate Marketing Chiqui Torres Tan.

So happy to share that there are smaller and more affordable Samsung digital inverter refrigerators now. All are filled with features that make it the definitive kitchen appliance – energy-efficient, innovative, and keeps foods fresh and crisp all the time.

This is the latest and more luxurious version of my refrigerator. It comes in a mirrored and speckled finish.

Sorry that all the photos have me in it. These are from the press releases. If you want to know more about Samsung digital home appliances, please check out their Facebook page and website.
