While everyone has been relaxing over this long weekend, I just got the biggest and most exciting shock of my life in an email.
Kelly Wearstler is now a site partner of this blog!!! Ahhhh! Gasp! Kelly Wearstler!!! My life peg with the globally successful design firm, stunning homes, model-thin body, eccentric rocker chic outfits. I even have this running joke with some friends that whenever I’m in doubt, I say to myself, “What would Kelly do?”
Needless to say, this is a big deal for me.
I assume everyone knows Kelly Wearstler. But in case you are reading her name for the first time, Kelly Wearstler is a renowned American designer and tastemaker known for her enchanting take on interiors. In the Fall of 2011, Wearstler debuted her ready–to–wear and accessories collection, while simultaneously opening the doors to her flagship boutique on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
Her website sells all her furniture, fashion, jewelry and accessories. This beautiful chair is in the site – Souffle leather chair.
The site and her books show many of her projects. I love how she uses colour and texture. Her rooms always have this rough, accidental look inspite of them being so carefully designed.
Drool over her furniture pieces.
That wall! Those chairs are in the site. Here – Curve Chair.
Here are the yummy Souffle leather chairs again. This vintage inspired lounge chair, an iconic Wearstler design, makes an appearance on the cover of HUE, Kelly’s third book. Constructed in delicately hand-ruched lambskin this exquisitely detailed chair sits on tapered legs of solid cast brass evocative of modernist Italian design. Available in Black, Fuchsia, Teal, Kelly Green, Off-White, and Taupe Torino Lamb.
And for those of us who want to have a bit of Kelly Wearstler in our closet, check out her Fall 2012 Look Book. The website offers free shipping for all U.S. orders.
Kelly rocks pants all the time. I love these Cousteau Knit Pants with the asymmetrical ankle hem. And the Dezza Dress, made from thick, stretchy, second-skin viscose that hugs the body, white the graphic black and white colour block design appears to trim inches off the body.
And for a big pop of colour, there are a few silk scarves in the collection.
Here she plays with texture and scale - Quartz prong necklace.
Turquoise is the featured stone in this sculptural Cube ring.
In case you haven’t had enough… here’s more.
I apologize about this Kelly Wearstler shrine. But I’m telling you, there will be more…
