DAPHNE Furniture® at Boy Abunda’s house

This is certainly a career highlight — seeing all these pieces from DAPHNE Furniture® at Boy Abunda’s Tagaytay home in no less than Kris Aquino’s tv show.

This time last year Boy consulted me. He said Kris wanted to give him a gift – either a living room set or dining set from my furniture line. An entire room! Then he left it all up to me. I blindly came up with a few suggestions from my team’s prototypes. Note that I had not seen his house.

Boy wanted the “famous” DAPHNE chairs in different colours. He wanted them as dining chairs, though they were meant as hall chairs (or accent pieces). I must say, they look adorable together the way he had them. The round dining table and colourful chairs are gifts from Kris. The other pieces were Boy’s gifts to himself.

Here are a few screen grabs from KrisTV via iWantv.

Everything in this room is from my line, it seems. Except for the banig, from Samar. I love Tito Boy’s banig rugs.

Kris 1
The green console table and Chippendale chair where Kris is seated are also from my line.

Kris 3
KC Conception joined the tour. That horse sculpture was a gift of Vice Ganda for Tito Boy.

Kris 4
From another angle. This isn’t his main dining room. This is in a smaller eating area upstairs.

Kris 5
That mirror is enormous and heavy. All hand carved wood with silverleaf. It was incredible seeing the mirror adjacent to Elmer Borlongan’s Hari Sonic.

The daybed from our first season.

Big thanks to Kris and Boy. You can watch the full episode of Kris TV July 26, 2013 via iwantv.com.ph.

Upholstered chairs

I’m in a major renovation mode. The thing is, real life is getting in the way. For someone who doesn’t have a real job (except the once a week talk show), I am getting a taste of full time work these past weeks. Not complaining. Just saying. Everything’s been good! Lots of collaborations and new endorsements.

While waiting for my kitchen renovation to re-start (we are 70% done and in halt mode now, pending the arrival of windows and sink), Samsung installed two amazing air-condition units in our little old cottage. The gorgeous Rose Inverter air conditioner is in our formal living room. This means we need to upgrade our windows while maintaining the capiz sliding windows. So that’s going to be a bit of a panic.

I’ve also been thinking of reupholstering my new old couch or acquiring a club chair in a bold colour. I’m back in the drawing board with the Daphne Furniture® team. But that’ll take months before I can reveal what we’ve got in store.

In the meantime I did some window shopping in my partner site Serena & Lily. What a gorgeous world…

Daphne Home Scents for Bench

Pinch me. Is this really happening?

Yesterday, Bench launched their first home scent – and they chose to work with me. I still can’t believe this all happened. We know that Bench has pioneered and captured the celebrity fragrance market. It is a natural progression that they’d move into the home sector – being that they are the country’s top fashion lifestyle brand. And when they approached me and wanted to develop the home scent with me, I was internally doing somersaults. This is the BIG thing I’d been keeping secret all these months.
Lots of stories to tell about the launch and the scents. I’m waiting for the official photos and videos so I can share them with you. For now, Instagram (@DaphneOP) is it. Hope you don’t mind.

Can't believe it's really here. Daphne Home Scents for Bench. Also in Dimensione. @benchtm
The Daphne Home Scents for Bench come in three variants – Acres of Lavender, Homemade Lemon Tart and Mint Jasmine Infusion. I love all three. I hope you get to try them. Very, very affordable. They’re sold at P348 per bottle (introductory price!).

#Daphne chairs, now in Dimensione.
The Daphne Furniture also has a new home now. I’ve moved the Daphne chairs to Dimensione High Street, Eastwood, Rockwell and Greenbelt 5. Lots of yummy colours now. And yes, the Home Scents are developed with French perfume experts.

Kai Lim & daughter, with Daphne chairs in Dimensione @benchtm
The whole Bench family came to the launch. They planned and styled the event in the loveliest way. All our guests were in awe, as much as I was. It was hosted by Raymond Gutierrez! I was star struck! Hearing him introduce me in such a nice way was just out of this world extraordinary! This mother and daughter team is Kai Lim’s, wife of Bench VP for Business Development Bryan Lim.

Amazed! @benchtm logo and #Daphne logo together!
Can I say that my heart skips a beat everytime I see the BENCH logo and DAPHNE logo side by side? How this happened, I don’t really know. I was honestly just wishing and willing it in my mind. And one day, I heard from Mr. Ben Chan’s people. Thank you, universe. Thank you, God!

You know it's not a regular day when you wake up to a tweet from @BCBench @benchtm. Still in awe.
This morning, a barrage of tweets from guests who have set up the Daphne Home Scents for Bench. And this most unforgettable tweet from Mr. Ben Chan. (He’s out of the country on an important trip and said that he brought some bottles of the home scent as gifts for his friends. He was very hands on with every single detail of the launch. Thank you, Mr. Chan.)

More photos and stories coming up. Seriously. This blog will be on a Daphne Home Scent and Bench high for a while….

Daphne Furniture® in Dimensione

Daphne Furniture has a new home = Dimensione

Can’t get any more informal than this.

I’m so happy to announce that Daphne Furniture® has a new home in Dimensione (Bonifacio High Street, Eastwood, Greenbelt 5 and Rockwell Power Plant Mall).

We haven’t had a formal launch yet, but the new colours of Daphne Chairs are there now. All the colours are in High Street, it being the bigger store with more traffic. I hope to add the new collection of sofas, side tables and wardrobes soon.

Finally, the Daphnes under one roof

Here is a quick snapshot of my booth from Nina Santamaria’s new iPhone. She is just discovering the life-changing aspect of the iPhone. Yay. Nina’s interior design firm helped me put together my booth. Who knew you needed an interior designer for a 3m x 3m space? I thought I was just going to arrange my furniture. But then I realized I needed walls… and a floor!

Grupo Santamaria rescued me last week. Just before we all left for the weekend – we were off to Taal Vista Hotel (such a pretty view) and Nina was off to go surfing. In a matter of hours she got me a reliable contractor who built this wall and put together my floor.

My new colours for Daphne chairs came out well. I’m not sure I will carry all the colours when I release them thru my new retailer (can’t wait to announce that…). I love the purple one. The orange and yellow are getting good reviews too. That wardrobe is actually for kids. I adore it. And also  that chest of drawers. I hope you like my colours. My current Daphne Linens are all here. They are regularly sold in SM Homeworld and Our Home. It’s such a treat to see all the products in one space.

I developed my own wallpaper too. Amazed at how The Purpose Store did it. I’m looking forward to the possibility of creating more.

There’s a pretty little announcement in my booth as well. When you visit, please linger and watch the video. My Urban Zone team – Manny, Denmark and Maila, with Paolo Ruiz who shot the video – put together an awesome AVP of Urban Zone. I will post it in You Tube after World Bex. But if you’re curious to know what will happen to UZ, please drop by the booth. Thank you to Mike Pena (architect), Jason Buensalido (architect), Cynthia and Ivy Almario (interior designers), Nina Santamaria (interior designer), Mark Madolaria (interior designer) and Isabel Gatuslao (graphic artist) for supporting the next step of UZ. Your testimonials mean so much to us!

Come visit the booth. I will for sure be there on Saturday March 17 and Sunday March 18 from 2pm to 5pm. I had planned on being there everyday but I have things to attend to today… it’s my birthday! I have an exclusive interview with the Campana Brothers! Gasp!!!! And tomorrow, my two daughters have moving up day at preschool. This answers your questions on how I balance my life. Priorities.
