Samsung Galaxy S3
June 3, 2012
It seems everyone is talking about Samsung’s new smartphone, the Galaxy S3. In the few days since it’s release, all units have sold out. Last Monday, Samsung hosted this big launch for the Galaxy S3 at the NBC Tent. As with all Samsung launches, this was huge.
The phone has some very impressive features. It knows when you are falling asleep. If you’re reading or browsing the net on the S3, and you start dosing off, the phone recognizes that your eyes are shutting so it goes on idle mode. If you are messaging someone but decided to call them instead, just lift your phone to your ear and ‘Direct call’ will dial their number automatically.
With the new ‘S Beam,’ the GALAXY S III expands upon Android™ Beam™, allowing a 1GB video file to be shared within three minutes and a 10MB audio file within 2 seconds (my jaw dropped!!!) by simply putting two GALAXY S III phones back to back, even without a Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
‘AllShare Play’ can be also used to instantly share any forms of files between GALAXY S III and your tablet, PC, and television regardless of the distance between the devices.

Samsung executive Coco Domingo, Head of Samsung Mobile Product Marketing, demonstated the Galaxy S3 via this giant interactive screen.

The philharmonic orchestra played pop songs like Lady Gaga’s Poker Face and Katy Perry’s Firework. It was fantastic. Nice touch!

Media came in full force. This is our table – Jim Paredes, Paolo Bediones, Tessa Valdes, Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, Raffy & Pauline Juan, Liza Gokongwei, Tara Santos.

It sees your best side. Its 8MP camera features a zero-lag shutter speed that lets you capture moving objects easily without delay – the image you see is the picture you take. The ‘Burst shot’ function instantly captures twenty continuous shots (3.3 frames per second), and goes a step further by selecting the best of eight photographs for you when you recreate the best photo feature.

It lets you do two things at once. ‘Pop up play’ allows you to play a video anywhere on your screen while simultaneously running other tasks, eliminating the need to close and restart videos when checking new emails, surfing the Web, texting, and chatting with friends. Plus, with a 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display, the GALAXY S III offers a large and vivid viewing experience in HD.
