My sister in law from New York visited Manila for a couple of weeks. She brought along six of her friends, mostly from the US and one from Switzerland. They travel that way once or twice a year — meeting up at a certain city, renting a house together and just exploring. Their recent travels brought them to San Miguel de Allende, Nicaragua, Amalfi and Bali. This time it was Manila-Boracay.
I took them around for a couple of days. And since they’re all in a design-related field, I made sure they saw my favourite design sources – A11 in Pasay, Reposo Street shops, Greenbelt 5 and Pasong Tamo Extension.
Our first stop was W17 – a gorgeous space in La Fuerza Pasong Tamo Extension. I texted one of the owners Kaye Tinga to ask permission if I could shoot some photos during my visit. They had just had a dinner reception the night before and the centre part of the warehouse was empty. The sofas were moved to the side. I thought it looked even more charming that way.
I didn’t take notes nor did I actually interview anyone. So I’m leaving these photos un-captioned. I kinda like it that way… Just pure inspiration overload.
W17 is located at 2241 Pasong Tamo, La Fuerza Compound, Makati City
